First of all, of course, I don't own anything at all of this picture (well, screen shot) of this WWE show that is RAW.
I'm not trying to trick anyone by bluring the screenshot, just to focus on what's important to me (what's not blurred of course).
If ever it's not appreciated to do such a thing here on FA, I'll remove that submission (or it'll be done automatically) but I won't try to submit it again, so it'll last ... well, some times, we'll see.
So, it has been a moment, some years now, that I'm following the WWE shows on TV. First I was watching the french version that was a month or 3 weeks late compared to the US original airing, then I found a way to be able to follow the US version (with the english commantators then, but just for information, now the french version is aired 1 week after the original US one though it's not aired on the same days so ... well, too complicated so moving on).
Since I started to be really interested in those shows, I've been trying to know how I could even see one in reality. I tried to travel to some other places in France where some rare house shows were held (mainly Paris) but never got the chance to be there in time, mainly because of the money it would have costed me. Then, last year, RAW went to Nîmes that is around 50Km from where I am, plus it was held in an real arena, plus it was held on my birthday date. Everything was gathered to make it be a very good show but sadly, I couldn't go there for the same reason than always : missing money.
And then it comes to this year. RAW and SmackDown are doing an european tour and, oh joy, they're coming to a city named "Montpellier" :D
Some of you may have guessed it already, that's precisely where I live. It was tricky to get a good place but I finally managed to get one !
This show was tonight (at the moment I'm writting this comment, I'm just coming back from the "Arena" of Montpellier, not a real arena, that's just a name for a big new hall we have around here now).
And it was great, very great. Well, of course it's probably not as great as live show or even "taped-one-to-be-aired-later" 'cause it doesn't have fireworks, screens playing movie entrance for each wrestlers or diva, etc etc ... but it's better than nothing and anyway, it was great :D
Ok, the shows are rated "PG" so it's not like before (when it was more "PG13" than "PG only") and probably less fun but it's still a good show, to my eyes at least.
Good points : Close from home (for once ;p), got a chance to get a dedicace from R-Truth and Eve during the afternoon before the show took place, got some cool merchandising that would have cost me more than an arm to get from US ('cause of expensive shipping charge from WWE), got excited like never to see those people I keep watching on TV doing those amazing move but this time it was in front of me and not on a screen ... I'm missing some probably, too many to recall but all in all it was "AWESOME" like Miz would say.
Bad points : Even if it's close from home there wasn't any bus scheduled to get people back to the city center 'cause the "Arena" isn't really in the middle of the my town so it was hard to get back home (had to take a taxi cab then), very (very) expensive merchandising just because it has WWE original logo on it (30€, around $43, fo one T-Shirt, 20€, around $29, for one collar), too many merchandising for John CENA only while there were many other WWE Superstars who deserved to also have their merchandising sold (like John MORRISON, I would have loved to get his T-shirt).
I have nothing against John CENA, I even think he's a very good guy, a good wrestler (that's MY opinion only) but I think "they" are doing to many things around him, forgetting very skilled wrestlers (like Matt HARDY, who didn't get renewed for his own pleasure 'cause he wasn't doing anything interesting anymore in the WWE ... that's what was said but I think that's a big loss, just like his brother Jeff who is wrestling with the TNA and doesn't seem to want to go back to the WWE, for now at least).
Anyway, I'm going on another track with this and that's not the purpose of this submission.
Yes I know I wrote a lot and many people won't read it fully (knowing it probably misses words and it's not a very good english that I used) but the fact is here (not the champion ... not sure people will understand that "sad" joke ^^;), it was a great night that I spend and I really hope I'll be able to do it again next year if ever the WWE comes back here (and from what Justin ROBERT, the official ring announcer of RAW, said, they're preparing another tour in 2011 where they will probably come back in new hall we have (it has been inaugured last September and there's only two halls like this in France, one in Paris, one in Montpellier).
So there's a good chance they're coming back here soon, and maybe this time it'll be SmackDown and I'll be able to see Edge (who was drafted to SmackDown before the house show of tonight took place, so no Edge this time).
Next goal : to participate to an aired/taped show in UK so I'll see what's a live show with everything (fireworks, screen and entrance's movies, etc ...).
Ok, I'm done for now about this ^^;
Once again, I don't own anything of this picture.
RAW and the superstars and the referee on this picture (even if it's blurred) are the property of the WWE.
Oh, and if you're a fan (and if it's not over yet), "Stand up for WWE" (no, I'm not gonna link anything, look by yourself on any websearch engine.
And if you're not a fan of WWE and/or his wrestlers/divas, no need to comment then, it's not a place to debate whether it's good or not, I'm just sharing a one time moment I've just lived ;p
