
Every now and then, my routes take me past these pillars that I named “The Silent Watchers”
Gray stone structures, creeping from the ground, pointing straight at the heavens as if to mock the great kings up above.
Sometimes I wonder who built them and why.
A structure this massive in the middle of nowhere, all alone.
Nothing but the icy wind and the frozen land to keep it company, as well as the odd trade or cargo ship passing by from time to time.
I wonder if they would feel lonely if they could talk.
Maybe they would be upset with whoever created them, taking all this time and material to create such fantastical stone structures, just to leave them here forever…
