I aughtta draw my all-bird team next! Or maybe I'll put that in an already-big collage I'm working on. @w@ But! Either way, I wanted to do something for the end. :3 I like Volo a lot! I didn't realize he was a guy, oops. He looks just like Cynthia and is all cool and beautiful! I guess handsome in his case. And he was a total sweetheart in the game, even at some points where no one else was, so I wanted to draw how nice and comforting he was under a colorful Hisuian sky. :3 Nice way to end a big weekend! I still got a lot left to do in the game, the pokedex isn't complete or anything, I gotta do a lot before the real finale! Hopefully Volo is still a nice helpful companion there! OvO;
Oh, and if you can avoid spoilers in the comments below, it'll help folks who aren't as far yet. :3 A lot of folks are still playing this! Took me 5 months and 83 hours, oops...
Visual Description:
A colored, shaded, rainbowy picture! Owlnard in glasses, a red scarf, white little handkerchief over his head, as he leans into some tall blond anime pretty-boy dressed in blue, with a white apron, and a bunch'a brown belt straps, cause he's a travelling merchant in the game! The sky's all rainbowy and cloudy, just like the rainbowy shade on the two of us, and the Pokemon Legends Arceus logo in the corner. Hoo~!

Haha oh hey a Volo icon! And yes, totally! I only sorta know Cynthia from stuff I've heard and watched, but I liked that he had her same sorta confidence and mystery. He's always like, perfectly confident and positive, and it makes me curious about everything he does and says. He'd be fun to spend time with. nvn And I was kinda worried at the end of the game something might go wrong with him, but even when the rest of the world was against your character, he brought you in and made sure everything was okay. ;v; That's the moment I wanted to capture here. He's so nice and sweet... I don't know what happens after the credits, I'm hoping he's still behaved, I have a feeling there's a bit more of his story to wrap up, but I'll enjoy my time with him while I can. :3 It's nice to see someone else likes him and his character too!
That's exactly it! You put Volo's personality into words so well. Confident but mysterious
Usually when a character is confident it's usually brought with being very boastful, arrogant, maybe abrasive. Volo is the rare combination of confident yet very gentle, a bit restrained, very friendly and kind. It's an unusual combination, I get the impression he's an introvert who learned how to be an extrovert.
Once you finish the postgame I would love to hear your thoughts!

Yes! I very much agree. It's probably one of the most rare types of confidence portrayed in media - usually characters have confidence as their personality trait so it's just basic, or it's a negative fault and they do it too much. I like the upbeat and confident types of personalities, so it can encourage people to be positive about feeling confident (I myself never want to be overly-confident since, it's so easy to see how often that's a problem.) But, gentle confidence is great. Someone who's sure of themselves, but not too much in either the negative or upbeat area. Just the right and reasonable amount. nvn
But hoo no... I haven't 100%'d the game to see Arceus yet by collecting every pokemon, but I did play enough post-game to see more of Volo, possibly all that's left to see of him.

Well, on one hand, I accidentally got spoiled online. X3 Someone posted a "Pokemon villains" meme and had him in there... so I wasn't too sure but, figured that'd end up being the case then.
It was fun helping him get all the plates - and neat to get the hang of how he's really into the ruins and legends, and how excited he gets. His calmer and gentler side started getting more excited... and the gradual signs of him being an upcoming enemy in the game were showing. I sure think his outfit above is more cute than the outfit he had in battle! owo;
It was kind of interesting hearing him wish for a new world, and wanting to make a new one, by getting rid of the current one - I haven't played Gen 4's games but I understand that's what those games' villain, Cyrus, also does, haha.
It did seem a little drastic... Pokemon does seem to take characters who seem nice and reasonable and sort of show their extreme philosophies gradually (I'm still a bit shocked Rose turned out bad... I think part of that was bad writing... but I'm noticing how slow and oblivious I am to pokemon villains, oops...)
I do like that Volo wondered why bad things happened in the world, and tried to be productive, curious, and thoughtful with it. It's a normal thing we all think about! And since a pokemon god-creator thing exists in their world in a way people can reach, he had a way to find his answers, and it's cool that he tried. I think I do feel a disconnect between where he went from wondering why bad things happened, to getting rid of the current world... it didn't seem like things were too bad for him! owo And if he can be positive and carry himself so well... it just seemed odd. Hehe, I'll have to think on it more and see if this is one like Rose, where I wonder if it was just odd writing, or if I'm missing a piece... maybe you'd know more about it and could tell me? What do you think? nvn
Either way, I think he could possibly show up one more time if I see Arceus, but maybe not... it does feel a bit like he's a whole other person now, it's almost like a split personality. I'd like to think he got too into the moment and discovery and things getting close to finding out more about legends... but, if he sorta went off the deep end before your character arrived, and was the reason you arrived, and split time/space and stuff... maybe he just got really obsessed and impatient with reaching Arceus. I wonder if he'd feel better if he got to have the talk with them that he wanted....? owo I'd love to see that and see his heart get settled... but, we don't usually have that happen in pokemon I suppose...
Sorry to write paragraphs! Hehe.
