Oh I just realized it would probably be a good idea to post my dragon art I did earlier in the year here, if I'm gonna be putting dragons here anyways. I have a, uh....a few sizeable headworlds lol one of which is Astrozoda, a planet I use for homebrew D&D campaigns but it's also home to my draconic pride and joy, an EXTREMELY written-out and detailed history, phylogeny, and morphology of the 20 dragon morphs that exist in this world. I say "morphs" because in this world, true, proper dragons are all one species, and each one may grow into one of 20 possible morphs, largely at random and irrelevant to the morphs of the parents.
This is the only dragon which does not belong to a normally-occurring morph, the Draconic Emperor, his "morph" being a prismatic dragon. He is the only one of his kind, and was the first dragon created by the Gods, with the intent that he would be an earthly "king" to humanoids. In the "modern" (approx high renaissance equivalent) setting of this world, he has been reclusive for tens of thousands of years, his reign having been brought to an end mere centuries after humanoids were created in a coup d'etat. During the battle he suffered a catastrophic brain injury which left him depressive, anxious, and wracked with chronic pain and hallucinations.
I'm going through the scrivener document and found one titled "Dragons vs The Very Idea Of A Societal Norm" and it's making me want to work on these bad boys again. And yes I painstakingly hand-rendered this linear holographic motherfucker because I was halfway through before I found out clip studio has gradient mapping.
