Even with your other works with colors, i enjoy breaking them down and emulating; really helps a ton.

Ex: Pass. It is a structured world, but it speaks a lot with a few characters in, i.e simplicity is best; from what i learned on that piece.

I love that you are not shy about talking about learning from others. And the main thing is that it is really necessary to analyze exactly all these details separately from each other, this is the right approach, unlike those cases when people do not understand what exactly they can take into and just take someone else's style x)

Yes, exactly your point, i even do a 1 to 1 master study where if i like something:

Break down
Redraw
Compare my final copy to the original, while making notes on the study.

That way i gain muscle memory from eyeballing the reference and use it in future, i can use the same style to see how i feel about it on many ideas i have, but in some cases i like to use another style but same direction. If it works, good, if not - find another style.
