Zerek shows off her guns

Zerek Debaneux, originally Zerek Orohole, was a talented Huttball champion who was bought by an offworlder and rebranded as an "Alsakani native" to capitalize on Alsakani ultra-nationalism. Despite her success in sports, Zerek was unhappy and frequented bars, where she met Gastra Pantopoda. The two began dating and found happiness together, but faced difficulties due to Alsakan nationalism and prejudices.

The couple attended a festival on Abregado-rae during Zerek's off-season, where they enjoyed a relaxed date at Tee-and-Tott's Hideaway. However, the presence of Gastra's intimidating friend Dao Stryver, a Gektl bounty hunter, somewhat dampened the atmosphere. Later, Zerek and Gastra enjoyed a firework show together.

Zerek defied her manager by wearing an Aurebesh necklace, openly embracing her Mon Gazza origins and advocating for Alsakan inclusivity. This action led to the end of her relationship with Gastra due to media scrutiny. After leaving professional Scoopball, Zerek joined the Alsakan Liberation Front (ALF), unknowingly becoming part of an Imperial Intelligence operation to destabilize Alsakan. As the truth was revealed, Zerek went into hiding and continued fighting discrimination until she was extracted by Sith Lord Adala Kell.

Zerek joined Imperial Intelligence as an operative but eventually turned against her Sith allies, secretly helping the disadvantaged. She was discovered, arrested, and sent to a facility on Sembla, where she later met Watcher 23. Together, they managed to get a message out to their allies, who raided the facility just before their scheduled executions. Zerek was reunited with a diverse group of friends and acquaintances, including her estranged love, Gastra Pantopoda.
