Just something I was musing about last night. As a fairly inexperienced artist I often find that for every passable drawing I make, I'll have a whole slew of failures. That is a great thing.
In the past I would often spend too much time working on a particular drawing I had grown attached to. Sunk cost fallacy, fear of failure and all that. It's a bad habit that can really hamper artistic growth.
Sometimes it's just better to cut your losses, take a break and try again with fresh eyes.
Quality over quantity is a great saying for those who have mastered their craft, but when you're a beginner, you simply don't have the benefit of quality. The only thing you have going for you is quantity.
But if each failure is another step towards success, then the more steps you can lay down, the faster you'll climb.
... Unf, she thicc!
