Every public meeting there is always the chance that you get "that person" that comes up, spouts off a bunch of conspiracy stuff, calls everyone else stupid... The last few years have produced (or revealed) LOTS of these people.
So, what about lycanthropy as a public health issue, and a denier letting everyone else have a piece of their mind? As has been said of other pathogens, you may not believe in it, but it sure believes in you. Lots of cases where months after saying its all bullshit, reality steps up and smacks these people around.
That said, this would be the only disease where if there was a vaccine I'd probably say pass on. :)
