Queen angelfish wall hanging done in anodized aluminum. Used photoshop to go from photograph to pixel pattern, then linked each ring one at a time. I did this over the summer, but I've been really swamped with school this semester and so haven't posted anything for quite a while.
I need to work out a better hanging mechanism.
8"x9.5" total, 45x60 pixels/rings. Rings are 16 gauge 3/16" ID.
I might some time open up commissions of these sorts of things, considering I can do any image in theory. If I do open up for commissions at some point, I would have to implement a really weird pricing scheme: 8 cents per pixel. I can do about 180 pixels in an hour, which means this one took 15 hours, and I would charge $216 for it. (I am planning to put this up for sale as soon as I fix the hanging mechanism.) Although coming up with images that work nicely is tricky sometimes. Lines don't work very well, you want details delimited by color contrasts. Photographs seem to work nicely.
