"Are you sure you still want her in your squadron, lieutenant?"
A human spoke nervously as he looked up to a Lupari to his left. Even when standing on the balcony of his mech, the woman still felt intimidating. She took a moment to speak but eventually nodded.
"She's been cleared for the most part. I've known her for decades, and I'm sure she will like seeing a friendly face."
The human took her words in, though already his confusion grew.
"Ms. Matrilik, if I may... Sazha was a P.O.W. for two weeks during the invasion. Rynar DON'T usually take prisoners, and you've seen first hand that whatever they did make her regress substa-"
"I understand. But I also understand that if Sazha is to get better, she needs someone to anchor her."
While the Lupari wasn't openly hostile, the human could tell that the giant wolf would like talking to anyone but a human. As her patience wore thin and she began tapping her foot idly. The man gave in and glanced over his Yutri.
"I just hope you know what you're doing. Do you have clearance to sign Sazha up for the Guardian and Charge program? It says here that you put her in?"
The wolfess smirked, betraying her true motives by pairing the Jahkatian with a Human.
"I'm sure she will do fine with her Charge, and if not, then oh well. I'm sure she and I could work things out... At the end of the day, she needs help either way."
Perking her ears up, she flashed a wider smile and looked down to the human. Her brown eyes made the man squirm internally as she continued.
"And it's your job to pick a Charge that will best suit her. Use some of that human ingenuity I keep hearing about and find someone."
Realizing what the Lupari wanted, the man furrowed his brow.
"Matrilik, I understand your disdain for my kind. But that doesn't mean you can try to spread it! What happened during the invasion wasn't anyone's fault."
For once, the Lupari stiffened, and the human felt she would lash out at him. However, she kept her demeanor, despite her eyes burning with rage. Blinking to wipe this anger away, she smiled wickedly.
"It is my job to maintain relations between UTO species and Humanity. It is your job to choose a human that won't make my only close friend after the war, not regress further. It is your power to deny her Guardianship, but I'm sure you see a future with her and a Human Charge getting along well enough."
"If this backfires, it's your ass I'm sending people to. I'll have to explain how this was all Lt. Matrilik's idea."
The Lupari, for once, laughed as her menacing demeanor vanished instantly. Looking at her Yutri, she chuckled and nodded.
"And if this backfires, I'm sure you'll be looking for another job."

Iām surprised Matrilik doesnāt hate the Rynar the most since it was entirely their fault why the UTO intervened on earthās behalf in the first place, which led to her losing her lover. If those lizards honored the leave Pre-Spaceflight species alone treaty, non of this would have happened.
Yeah one human not all billions of those who survived the Rynar invasion who many suffered the same loss she did. But your right when you let emotions control you it clouds any rational thought.
BTW Iām not taking these stories seriously Iām just putting my thoughts and emotions into your great stories, kind of like how people canāt help but take about or to characters even though they and the stories are fictional. XD

Yee! I do love feedback!~
Though can at least admit, Matrilik will grow more accustomed to humans. Real reason for her pain here is that during the invasion, she put her pain aside for the betterment of humans. Knowing it's what Klieth would have wanted, though it breeded a deep-seated resentment in her
