A Lion Tribe commission for
Raydis, with a nceat little story written by them
She had come from the east. A nomadic warrior that left her homeland seeking a challenge.
From jungle to desert, she felled many a contender in her travels. Until she reached an unknown grassland, inhabited by a species of big cat she hadn’t seen before. They were tribal, primitive by her standards.
Most looked at her confused when she challenged them to a fight. Most knew better than to take her on. Though one did step forward to answer the challenge. He was a young man of tall stature. Brown fur and the start of a mane. Though as she prepared to fight something put her off. Why was he smiling?
She made the first move, a combo she had many times before. Or at least she tried to; instead on the first punch she found her arm caught and her body spun to be facing completely opposite of where she started. No one had ever countered her before. She snapped her head around to see him just standing there, a big grin on his face. She intended to rip it off. She lashed out, only to be countered again
Was he laughing?
To her this was pride
To him it was a game
He countered everything she threw at him.
Until out of nowhere, he grabbed her and slammed her with a suplex
The tigress was left stunned on the ground for a moment. Until a hand came into view. It was from the man. He was offering to help her up. She was confused. She expected some kind of mockery to be spurned, like she had done to others in the past. Why was he being generous to her? Tentatively she took his hand. He offered her a bowl of water she graciously accepted.
“That was fun!” he declared. Was it really just sport for him? She didn’t understand this man, but she wanted to know more about him. He took her back to the village. After a moment’s rest, she finally did something that managed to catch him off guard. She fell on her face, demanding he teach her. He was a bit taken aback but nonetheless agreed.
For a few months the tigress trained under his tutelage.Though something slowly changed between the dynamic between the two of them. She started to look at him with a new light and so did he. They found themselves a bit more than teacher and student when she shared his bed. And from then the wandering warrior no longer wandered. Not because she found what she was looking for, but because she found something better.
A family.
