Let's see if I can comprehend this piece as it is meant to be comprehended.

This individual is one who wants to experience the sensation of death--of which he has never experienced before. The place he has never been being the afterlife, wherever that may be. This is so due to the fact that he feels as if he shall only be valuable to the world around him after he has passed.
