LOL I don't know about that -- Rare was a good publisher [*Note: was], but I think what actually saved Nintendo when sales started to drop was Pokemon. That, and the fact that no other company has ever been able to beat Nintendo in the handheld department. YES, some handhelds have been more powerful, but they have never outsold Nintendo's. xD It actually sometimes confuses me, but hey. Can't argue with numbers.

And I doubt Microsoft will buy Sony and Nintendo. xD Like...highly. Sony will always be their own entity, not only making video game consoles, but all of their line of electronics, and Nintendo will always be a company on their own -- they didn't start as a video game company, as I'm sure you know, and if the video games thing starts to fail on them, they'll turn into something else, as they always have. xD

Plus, I honestly don't think Microsoft is as powerful as they have been in the past -- although I'll always prefer them to Apple. xD Apple used to be the company that opposed "THE MAAAAN", but now they are the man, so fuck 'em. xD

and idk.... nintendo had awsome hand helds til the ds. two screens! but 99% of games only really use one of them or use them both in a way that the 2nd screen is useless.... touch screen = yey though... for the few games that actually both use it and use it well.

actually it does <.< by sending our money overseas it doesnt go back into our economy. thats part of why we are in a recession. all the charities sending money overseas and companies building overseas. that money doesnt come back to us. so now we have more poor and no one donates to us because "we are the evil nation" -.- if we are so evil then why do we donate and help other countries more than any other country in the world? it pisses me off D:

I'd argue that the two screens work well -- Especially with Nintendo's in house games, and in games published by first-rate developers. I can't think of a game where the bottom screen was a hindrance -- an option, yes (like in Pokemon -- not necessary, but not a hindrance).

I don't think having two screens has ruined any game -- it may have been unnecessary for some, but it's never hurt.
And without it, some games wouldn't work properly -- like Professor Layton. That's a game that works well with two screens.

I think the game that I've played that best used the two screens was The World Ends With You -- which is an odd thing to say, since usually Square relies on pretty graphics/intricate plot to sell their games, not so much gameplay.

Which is probably why TWEWY isn't as popular as say, Kingdom Hearts, which has very typical gameplay, nothing special, but what some would call a spectacular plot*. xD

I think the touch screen might actually be what sells it to the older folks. I think they like the idea of using a stylus/pen more than buttons.

the only 2 handhelds out there atm are the DS, which even if it sucks hardcore, can play gb games, and those were amazing, and the psp. people are going to buy the better handheld, reguardless of how bad it is. the psp flopped mainly because it needs a second joystick and the games were kinda meh.... it really feels more like a hand held internet tool.... which any phone now can do.

the DS is better because it can play the GB games, and the controls dont suck xD the only real complaint is that generally the 2nd screen is useless, and that was one of its marketing tools. zomg, 2 screens. game developers: wtf.... what are we supposed to do with 2 screens?.......

I actually really like the DS. Not just out of necessity, or because it "sucks the least". x3 You have a very negative view on things, don't you? xD I tend to look on the bright side of things normally. x3

PSP is just a handheld system, there isn't really anything special about it, so all it needs to attract my attention is better games, or rather, a higher number of them. x3 I was lucky enough to get my PSP as a gift, but if not, I wouldn't have one -- I can't spend money on a system that only has about 4 games that I like! xD

But it ain't a bad system. Nothing is strikingly wrong with it. Usually Nintendo's handheld opponents have MASSIVE flaws, either that the company developing them was just too small/unknown, or in the case of Sega, it took on too much too early, and D-R-A-I-N-E-D batteries. x3 I loved my GameGear, but it really wasn't portable. It was just a nice system to play in bed -- plugged into the wall. xD

my gamegear worked for a while with its batteries, albiet ten thousand batteries to operate xD but the graphics were on par with the consol graphics of its time, and the screen was a decent size too. i enjoyed it more than the GB... the G just had more games =/ in america at least.

and yea i do mean GBA games, i just call em GB because people tend to figure it out.

and i dont have a negative view of things xD i own every game system minus the SNES and ps3. i used to own a wii but i sold it. the ps3 isnt near worth buying, let alone deserving of being called a game system. if soney didnt have extra money to spend, theyd be broke atm because of the ps3. i swear the only reason its still out there is to try and best microsoft. i even own a cleakovision (not sure on spelling xD) a CLEAKOVISION. no one even knows it exists. xD though i dont have a time traveler.... i dont even think that was ever really in production or fully made. i just heard about it and read about it in an article once in school xD

LOL GameGear wasn't a bad system, but the lack of portability (I was never rich enough to feed the bastard the amount of batteries it demanded), and the better games on original Gameboy did sort of decide that battle for me. xD

I was in a similar situation where I was in the cinema and a guy, who I swear was about the size of "Fat B*stard" from Austin Powers, just sat in front of me and my Family who were with me at the time. I'm pretty tall, and I still couldn't see past him. :p Place was pretty empty, though so we switched rows.

i love this. i have always had a weird fascination with Miyamoto and making him out to be a god. my best friend and i always make Miyamoto jokes and stuff because we love him so much. his games are great, but i think my dream to get his autograph one day stems from my joking around with best friends threw the years. they are loving jokes... like, just to bring him into a conversation randomly. we do a stereotypical older Japanese accent at times while saying something about how Miyamoto would do better or whatever...i dunno XD most of the jokes are silly and in his admiration. i want to make a shirt that has him on the front of a cereal box (Wheaties style) and the cereal would be called Miyamotos.XD i have such fun with admiring him/joking around that i MIGHT enjoy it as much as i enjoy his games. long live Miyamoto! and btw, your so lucky for being at the Nintendo world store to see him. i live in New York and every time i go to the store they tell me they have no clue when he will be back there next. it gets saddening, but i will meet him one day! i just know it~
