Another OC concept - this one made entirely by my partner! He had a general idea of what he wanted this one to look like and gave me a sketch of his own, but then gave me permission to take some liberties and tweak the design - the story is all his, though! Still, I’m very happy with how this guy turned out! Just one more bug after this and we’ll have designed all of our main cast~

This is Anselm - an Atlas beetle with a strong sense of justice, who was renowned in his village as a great protector of his people. A war between two other clans forced them to evacuate after being caught in the middle, with Anselm as their guide. Along the way to safer lands, they were attacked and overwhelmed by a huge group of strange bugs. During his fight to protect his people, Anselm lost one of his horns and the shell of his left wing, and the village collectively pleaded for him to save himself. Having no other choice, he fled with his broken body parts to the Ant Kingdom where, rather than have them reattached, he chose to repurpose them into a sword and shield in order to continue protecting others.

This dude is Big Sad Boi Hours™ - he’s literally big too, being the tallest and bulkiest of the 9 main bugs we’ve put into this AU so far. He’s very much the definition of a gentle giant!
