So, I wanna make some small update to this lil project; It has a name! 'Mage and Wolf' as the title was husband's idea, so he gets the credit for naming it >u< I had several different names I'd considered, but...tbh they sucked, haha! I have plans to continue this series for MANY chapters (I dunno exactly how many yet, but...a handful), so I'll be tryin my hand at a thumbnail image and stuff to help it look a little better.
ABOUT THIS CHAPTER: I wanna make a HUGE disclaimer!
While I really try to do as much research into the official lore so that I can accurately write about it, I'm probably missing some stuff, so I apologize for the fans that take offence to my writing (but also, it's fanfic bruh, calm down). Due to a lot of ambiguity in some of said lore, I felt comfortable giving Hircine a physical presence in this fic, and an embodiment that I found appealing, as Deadra/Princes aren't actually limited in the same physical capacity as mortals. Please take my writing with a lil pinch of creative freedom, and thanks for reading!
I'll be happy to answer any questions, or at least to the best of my ability(provided I'm not giving away any future spoilers). >u>

Thank you!
He seems like one of the Princes that might actually take a bit if a personal interest in his βkidsβ (provided they were well-behaved); but especially Hunts-in-Shadows, since sheβs a bit of an era-spanning project for him. He also seems like one of the less-malevolent Princes as well, which makes him fun to write.

He definitely cares more about his lycanthropes than Molag Bal cares about vampires. The lot of vampires who end up in Coldharbour is a decidedly unpleasant one, unlike what awaits Hunts-in-Shadows. I imagine that when her life does come to an end, she'll be quite happy in the Hunting Grounds. I wonder if her husband will join her in the hunt.
Eeegh, that kinda sucks, geez. You'd think that devout worshipers (vampires especially) would be treated a little...better? I'm no deadric prince, but yiiikes. I'd hafta assume that the devout worshipers don't know that before committing themselves to going to Coldharbor? I just... can't imagine anyone in their right mind agreeing to that so easily.
Ahh, she would looooove the Hunting Grounds, for sure! As for her husband; that one is still up in the air at the moment. I'd be lying through my teeth if I said it wasn't tempting to make him a werewolf.
So, soooo tempting...

Perhaps it's the promise of power and eternal life in Nirn as a vampire that tempt some mortals to make the Faustian deal with Molag Bal, risking their souls to damnation in Coldharbour should they be slain by werewolves or vampire hunters like the Dawnguard.
As for Marcurio, I guess it depends on how you choose to depict him. He's a mage and a scholar, but would he enjoy the thrill of the hunt? Would he be willing to trade an afterlife in Aetherius, the immortal plane that is thought to be the origin of all magic and arcane arts, for an eternity in the Hunting Grounds?
Would Hircine allow him to explore the realms of magic between hunts? If you plan to have Marcurio meet Hircine, that might be a question you have him ask the daedric prince. Then again, perhaps his love of Hunts-in-Shadows becomes so profound that scholarly pursuits in magic become pointless to him without her at his side and/or he develops a love for the hunt that is greater than his interest in magic.
If you do decide to have Hunts-in-Shadows bite him, it would make for an interesting reversal of roles. While Marcurio teaches her to read and do magic, she'd mentor him in hunting and controlling his lycanthropy.
