This was from a raffle I joined about a month or so ago by the artist  dragonhurd and was lucky enough to win \o/

The story behind this: I've spoken to Medium (dragonhurd) through shouts and then eventually conversed more when commissioning him, and he was just as big of a fan of the character Duke Nukem as I am. I've always loved Duke since way back playing his DOS game Duke Nukem 3D back in 1998. I really liked the bad ass type of character spitting out one liners and the game also didn't take itself seriously by jokingly making fun other hollywood 80's action movies and also poking fun at other video game characters, the Doom guy as an example. It was a game that set a great platform for a fun, witty, trash talking, 80's action film guy, jokester, good guy. You can even see that my favorite quote on my main page is also a quote from Duke Nukem. (which is actually taken from another film but, eh, oh well) This also bring up another point that Duke's design was heavily grounded in 80's action movies and sometimes horror movies of the time, and would make quotes straight out of those films. He's a cliche movie tough guy but done in a way to be light hearted which leads to, as mentioned before, not taking itself seriously and leads to some good jokes.

So upon being lucky enough to win this raffle, it only made sense to see if Medium would be interested in illustrating me in Duke's design. I think this is perfect! The background looks like its almost taken right out of the DOS video game and the small detail of the band around the cigar being a nuclear symbol is also the perfect touch. I think this is a wonderful homage to the Dukester. "Your face your ass, what's the difference!" "I'm gonna rip off your head and shit down your neck!" "Ewwww who's your plastic surgeon?" "What are you waiting for?!?! CHRSITMIS!?!?"
