I found this over DA and I like it better then the other age meme that I've seen used a lot, because the other age meme only goes until about 25 (basically it goes up to the point in which you can draw your still bishie animu boy as a bishie animu boy or you draw your character up until the point they stop looking pretty).
On the teenager years, I figured that during those years a canine would be transitioning from puppy fur to adult fur. While some dogs would make a smooth transition, others (like Alister and Edgar) would have more patchy growth and generally look more scraggly. It's kind of like the canine equivalent of teenage acne or something.
