Another Furry Fantasy character concept drawn up by none other than  Tatious again. :D

Honestly, what's a fantasy story without a ranger?
However this dark furred fellow will not be like another ranger many have come to know and love of a similar complexion, which will be the only comparable thing between them. =P

Here we have Nwuer (pronounced "Noir", get it?) a panther ranger. Yes, you can kind of consider him to be like the token black anthro of the group, but he will not be the first one to die or chime in with stereotypical phrases like "Damn!". "Oh, no he didn't!" or anything silly like that. XP
Nwuer is in fact quiet most of the time and very thoughtful and mindful of what he says. He chimes in when he has something important to say or an occasional wisecrack. He's actually going to be one of the wiser members of the party. Instead of the ranger who I shall not name, Nwuer is a bit more inspired by Aragorn whom I imagine Nwuer having a similar demeanor and personality to. Though not quite as serious.
Here's a more in depth background behind the man:

Nwuer was born in a far away land to the south east along the great island bridge streatching across the Lorian Ocean. When he was just a baby, Nwuer's mother fled their homeland with him in her arms, She smuggled onto a trade ship bound for the land to the west. Little did she know that she was being followed. After arriving Nwuer and his mother traveled through the great forest seeking a place to settle, somewhere where no one would find them. Unfortunately the men following her had other plans. A group of assassins intended to kill the young mother and her baby son, but the assassins were stopped and dispatched by a small band of cloaked figures with swords and bows. Nwuer's mother thank ed the man and pleaded for their help to find her a place she could stay to raise her son away from danger. The men offered to let her stay in their village to the north near the mountains. Turns out the band of men are a specially trained and conditioned group of warriors calling themselves "rangers". They let Nwuer and his mother stay with the men in their village with their families, but on the condition that they pull their weight and help with chores around the village with everyone else. Nwuer's mother excelled at cooking and sewing while Nwuer was given the honor of being trained as a ranger, a process that took many years of training and conditioning. Nwuer is now a young man and one of the best amongst the next generation of rangers amongst all the villages of the area. But his past haunts him, leaving him wonderign why his mother fled their homeland and who tried to kill the both of them and why. He hopes to have the chance to be able to learn the truth some day.
Nwuer is a strong young man, physically and mentally. He is not easily shaken or scared and is very calm and collected even in the most stressful and dire situations. He is very skilled with his specially crafted scimitars and longbow and is an expert tracker. He is often quiet and thoughtful, but when he speaks he garners attention with his wisdom and an occasional wisecrack. While he and his mother are accepted and loved by everyone in their village, Nwuer still feels like an outsider because of how different he is from everyone. However he knows who his friends are and who to trust and his loyalty is as sturdy as an blade or shield and is not easily shaken. Nwuer makes for a very formidable and reliable ally to the team.
