In 2010, I got to meet Fred Perry at the San Diego Comic Con and he has so many fans and something that struck me was not only the surprise, but Fred's delight when I asked for Penny! Fred goes, "Now that's interesting, Penny!?" I go, "well, yeah, I've always loved her!" He then did a killer drawing for me. I mean, Penny starts as Gina's rival and ends up being right along side Gina and also adopts Charlotte... another fave Gold Digger character! So win-win! We then talked about military life and how his art was described once as "booty" and a fellow service member said Fred "should make a bootybook" idea was a gift to the world! Perhaps one day doing another cheesecake mini comic called, "Booty Book 3000"

Sadly, the original was in storage at my brothers house and it was ransacked by no-gooders on some "crystal-inspiration", robbing the place of everything from carpet to copper wire in the walls. Thankfully my brother found my Gold Digger collection (almost perfectly intact like 5 years later in a garage clear out across town) but sadly, no Penny commission. One day I shall re-find this drawing and it'll be like one of Fred's great treasure hunt adventures! Deception, magic, friendship and betrayal and maybe some cans of tuna for good measure!
