Yep, there are eight strings! This is a solid body electric mandolin. An Eastwood MandoMagic to be exact. I really had no plans to buy an electric mando, but when I saw the beautiful sunburst on this instrument, I couldn’t pass it up.

*strokes chin* I see four pairs of strings on this pretty thing.
As an enthusiastic 12-string fan, I encourage people who may be intimidated by the sheer profusion of strings to think of a 12-string as having six pairs of strings, not 12 separate ones. The chord shapes and scales are the same; everything is simply doubled in octaves :)
