Gangplank Galleon (Donkey Kong Country)
David Wise just had one simple task; compose some music for this goofy little game where you run around as a gorilla and a monkey and call it a day. Instead he decided that we all deserve the most relaxing music for an underwater level ever and also gave us this piratey inspired piece, among many other things in said little monkey game. May explain why he was hired on to do the space furries dino game for...
Much like Fever, I probably won't upload this anywhere else but here because I don't want to clog up my soundcloud with video game covers and I don't really think anyone on DA will care to listen to it. While the music itself isn't bad, the arrangement feels rather dense and muddy, as I tried to do too much with it. I felt like the piratey intro should carry over into the rest of the song, so we've got Orchestral Tool choirs trying their best at the yo-ho shouting, an accordion from a decade old soundfont fighting against modern sounds, and a bunch of other things trying to make my idea work. I'll see what you think of it.
