Green lay on a branch of his tree above the pond, deep in thought, looking at the sky reflected in the clear waters. A familiar voice snapped him out of his reverie.

“Hey Green! Where have you been? We haven't seen you in days!”

“Thistle!?! No! Please! I'm sorry! J-just leave me alone!” The green pegasus instinctively unfolded his wings and leaped out of the tree.

“Green! It is Ok, I just want to talk, I- Green!” Thistle watched as Green launched himself, but his wings were wrong, all she could see were the roots of his wings, only a thin strip of his normally thick plumage. Green stayed aloft only a few seconds before he came crashing to the ground!

Green spat some turf out. “Blue! Why did you bring them here? You know I don't want anypony to see me like this!”

The blue unicorn kept his head down. “I'm sorry, I tried to keep them away, but...”

“Green! What happened to your wings!?!” Thistle interrupted.

Green stood shakily. He looked at Thistle's pooltoy body, then down to the ground. Trembling started throughout his frame. “I-I've been pinioned.”

Buttercup gasped. “Who cut your feathers off?”

Green closed his eyes as tears formed in them. “It is my punishment for endangering Thistle. It was my idea that got her lost. So now I cannot go home until my feathers grow back!”

Thistle deflated a bit, her ears wilting. “Green, I'm sorry.”

Green shook his head, tears seeping out of his tightly closed eyes. “N-no, Th-thistle, I'm the o-one who is sorry. I d-did something s-stup-pid that coould h-have h-hurt you!” The pegasus collapsed to the ground unable to speak any more because of the sobs wracking his body.
