UPDATE! 1/5/2011 - UPDATED VERSON IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a plan sheet I did for painting and modifying my warhammer 40k pieces.
I did 3 of the major weapons that would be used in my army and 3 major paintschemes for the swooping hawk wings and basic armor suit along with the two main vehicals, the hover tank hull thats universal between falcon, fireprism and wave serpent and the jetbike which could double for shining spear.
The bottem drawings I did where my plan for the pieces, I dont care 100% for the whole human elf thing so im getting casting/molding supplys and im going to try and take a figure, make a mold of it, cast a piece in wax, sculpt that wax into a furry as shown in the picture, make a mold of the modified wax figure, then cast a real piece.
BEFORE you start calling the police or Games workshop about my plan.... I have spoken with games workshop allready, they said it was FINE if I did this as long as I did a 1 to 1 ratio (I buy 1 piece, I made 1 piece of the same "type") and I make no profit off them. Meaning I cannot sell them or make pieces for other people. The only thing they couldnt "promiss" me is protection in a tourniment setting, my custom pieces unless I ask and get promission from the tourniment cordinator would be "illegal" to use, which is why they put the 1:1 ratio in, so id have 1 real offical piece for 1 remade modified piece, which means I can still partisipate in tourniments eather way.
When I actualy start making pieces ill host pictures of them, Cheak my journals for info on what I have and my plan is for uploading, ill try and keep it posted.
If you have a suggestions for my project feel free to submit them!
Enjoy. ^.^

Ok lemmie explain a bit...
In the core game you have an army list. This can include:
2 HQs (min 1)
6 troops (min 2)
3 elites (min 0)
3 fast attack (min 0)
And 3 heavy support (0 min)...
This applies to all armies. The characters you buy are ranked into those fields. E.G. the swooping hawks are ranked into fast attack.
break down of the categories:
HQ: Main commander(s) of your force.
Troops: The core units used to hold objectives or to shoot things.
Elites: More powerful than troops and often have added benifits like Leadership boosters.
Fast attacks: Often the more hit 'n' run type of unit equiped to get into battle then out.
Heavy support: The more devistating weapons are often with these squads. Often full of tanks and heavy equiped units...
And there's a sub group:
Dedicated transport: Used as transport (Duh) for ONLY the unit it has been assigned to.
The baneblade and wrathtitain are Super heavy weapons and come in with the expansion rules "Apocalypse" but don't worry about that till your army gets near 3000 points

Ahh I see allright, yea my army currently is made up of.... well planned to be anyway
1 Phoenix lord baharroth, the cry of the wind
6 fire dragon aspect warriors
6 howling banshees aspect warriors
15 Dire Avengers Aspect warriors
5 Rangers
8 gaurdians
1 war walker
1 wave serpent
1 heavy weapons platform, 2 crew
6 Swooping hawks Aspect warriors (own 6 allready ^.^)
and im still debating on
3 jetbikes
6 howling banshees
8 gaurdians
5 rangers
6 swooping hawks
Without the jetbikes I think the last tally was 1068 points or something like that. I have to wait till christmas and I get money from the family before I can even start putting this togeather and even then I donno if ill have enough to GET them all.

Ok first up...
Certain squads have a unit limet...
All aspect warriors have a minimum required unit of 5 and a max of 10 so those 5 extra DVs will be useless as just 5...
And you're better off buying the eldar codex...
It'll show you the points for each person and you can see the squad size, special abilities and weapon additions...
And I know the battleforce box has that stuff because I have:
1 Farseer
1 Avatar of Kael Mensha Khane
10 guardians including weapon platform crew
5 dire avengers
6 howling banshees
5 rangers
6 swooping hawks
1 falcon grav tank
1 war walker
and 1 wave serpent
And all that is equal to just about 1500 points

That extra 5 could be another squad, from what games workshop and the eldar codex both say their squads are 5-10, meaning I could have 3 5 guy squads, 2 squads 1 10 and 1 5 or 2 squads of 7 and leave one guy out. and I wasnt trying to treat you like you didnt know, I just wanted to mention it so it was a "oh thats where he's getting that set up" kind of thing.
you should come visit some time, theres a store in my area called OCC (olympic cards and comics) they sell and have warhammer tourniments, so far iv seen 2 SM, 1 necron, 1 tau, and 2 chaos playing there over 3 visits, iv seen guys with dark eldar too but never actualy in play :P
Lol when I saw Olympic I automatically thought Olympic park in Sydney and then flicking through the Blood Angels White Dwarf I found out it wasn't there...
Lol maybe I should take some pictures of my not so colorful and destroyed army (Not so colorful because I'm Ulthwé(Best psycher named character EVER leads this army (Eldrad Ulthran)) and destroyed because I have a sister -.-')
