I have half a box of very expired Efke PL25 5x7 film that I've been hoarding. Efke Fotokemika ceased all production in 2012. It was a very special film and we will never see a high silver content film like it ever again. I decided to burn off a sheet to see if it was still usable, and yep, still that same old PL25 look.
5x7 film developed in HC-110 dilution B for 7 minutes at 20ºC. The camera was my Eastman 8x10 with a 5x7 reducing back, Bausch & Lomb projection petzval lens.

Yeah, not much like it anymore and it was relatively inexpensive at the time, I wish I had picked up more. There is still a lot of good film out there, but the PL25 was really special. Adox is producing something similar in 4x5. I haven't tried it, basically because it costs about $5 a sheet. If I'm feeling wealthy some day I pick up a box and give it a try.
