
Last panel on page 16, I have the original inks for page 16 sitting under it. That page was digitally colored back in 2007, not sure when the inking was finished, but it's at least 15 years difference!
This is testing the suitability of the surface for watercolors. I'm debating on using this, using Daniel Smith Watercolor ground on it, or getting some Hardbord and doing the same. This is what the test panels are about!
I have to really push myself to expand the darks. I marvel at artists who are so bold with their ink and have thick, stark passages and I just have a hard time pushing it myself. I'm trying!
Also note I don't generally hand letter. My natural handwriting is a bit lack-luster and I have to draw the letters instead of write them to make them look like this, which takes a lot longer.
