“It seems to surprise people that I can read, I guess they don’t expect it of someone who runs around in a jungle wearing leaves, but it’s something I learned a long time ago. I’ve spent a lot if time reading the journals and books left by the previous owner of the tree house I live in,… that’s a story for another time though,… but I have gotten a number of books from visitors to the island as well. While I love learning new things, I also enjoy good story books too, and I’ve gotten into the habit of reading with Ozzy a bit before bed, he really likes that, and it’s some nice quiet time to ourselves, to take our minds off the worries of the island.”

usagiforehead does such a great job with Ozzy, making him look so lovable and Big, that I just had to get more of him, and Ember, from Usagi, in the form of this cute and wholesome picture of the two of them reading together before bed.
Another adorable picture from Usagi, which I think has such a soft and peaceful feel to it, which is not something that can be said of a lot of Ember’s pictures. Ember looks great, not often she is seen out of her leafy outfit, but the oversized tee-shirt really gives her a great relaxed and at ease look, and I hope at least someone gets the joke on it. ;). Ozzy looks great as well, you really get a great feeling for his sheer size, and yet he retains a friendly and playful look that you wouldn’t expect from a snake that size, of course the wagging tail tip likely helps in that regard too. ;). I really like the lighting effect Usagi did here, it’s dark, but that moonlight shining through the window creates a great atmosphere, and it’s great how it illuminates them, but the reflection off Ozzy’s visible eye is a really nice touch. All in all, a peaceful, cute and fun picture. :)

Really cute to see Ember reading Ozzy a bedtime story :). And even better to know that Gandalf smites his enemies in the end ;). Usagi really did do a great job here, and having it all come together nicely with the dark shades and nightly atmosphere from the opening of their home :). It's also really great to see that Ember has a souvenir from Coconut Island ;). Great work all around :D
Well it has always been quite convenient that the one language that not only Ember's original tribe, but the islanders both speak and write with is English, which I'm sure surprises plenty of people. But hey, if she enjoys spending the nights reading about the adventures about others instead of her own adventures, then that's fun for her and Ozzy. :)
Well, I never actually said that English was the language of her original tribe, nor that of the Islanders as well, nor that it was the only language that Ember could read and write. ;). But I'm sure the Islanders could have picked it up from visitors to the island. Heh, yeah, what better way to get away from your own adventures than to read about someone else's? ;)
Well, assuming that what you read there isn't translated from some other language, so you can understand it. ;). And I suppose the same could be said about Lucia speaking English. ;). Yeah, something they'd likely pick up, and exactly, adventures without the personal danger. ;)
Well perhaps ;). Well Lucia officially can only speak English as it's what she's originally knew and has never really had a reason to learn something else, which then would suggest that any time she talks to Ember or the Islanders they're speaking English as well ;). Indeed so, and yeah, defiantly a advantage there. ;)
