The Frost Strider is a magical ice insect residing in any snowing environments. It causes water around them to temporary freezes, enabling them to slide across the water surface, rather than skating across the water.

Those ice formation is probably voluntary, as it's observed giving a quick dive to catch fishes. Apart from fish, they also feeds on berries, which is the primary food source for their youngs.

It lay eggs in the snow near berry bushes, the eggs are protected inside an ice cube, which breaks once the newborn hatches. The newborns hides among the snow until they become old enough to hunt.

Normally it can leap long distance, or simply fly away, if felt threatened. If one attempted to pick it up with barehands, it may bite, causing a temporary, non-lethal frostbite that quickly recovers. Wear leather glove prevent this.
