Though the description of Kalderan would say something different, he is not the only draconian who survived the doom of his kingdom. Meet Drenzok. They surely know each other, and their relationship is somehow special. :)

Drenzok’s chosen vocation is that of a warrior, which was a default profession in his tribe. However, he is different from others, as most of time he has fought using his natural strength, claws and fangs. If he has no choice, he makes use of melee weapons, but they end up shattered within a day. This is a result of a curse imposed on the barbarian as a punishment for committing sacrilege. Moreover, thanks to a shaman of the lizardmen, he is able to spit acid.

The draconian has spent his life becoming an expert in the art of survival in nature, which he learnt when he was among other members of his own tribe of hunter gatherers from the marshes. He also learnt it when he attempted to survive alone after being made to leave Iklestria, and befriended several other tribes, including the lizardmen, who treat him with the greatest respect because of their beliefs. Therefore, he knows how to cope with difficult circumstances regarding living in the wilderness.

The barbarian has not had an easy life. As a child, he saved his father from certain death, but he must have done it using a sacred weapon, which accidentally resulted in causing damage to it. Drenzok was not made to suffer the punishment of death for his sacrilege only because he had acted in good faith. The only penance was the curse, though it was enough for the tribe to consider him inferior. He had to put in more effort than others in order to prove his value. His experience, together with the doom of Iklestria and its consequences, made him bitter and cynical. If you do anything he would consider foolish, he will tell you that, and it will not bother him whether he is delicate or not. The draconian mainly acts for his own advantage, as his motivation is simple: to survive. That is why he believes that sticking to groups is the best strategy. At the same time, he is extremely prejudiced towards humans, and he avoids contact with them as much as possible.

For many, Drenzok may seem to be cool, as he does not want to let his guard down. It is true that he has been accustomed to choke back his feelings, but more than showing them, he is willing to focus on supporting his companions. When he is attached to somebody, he will not leave them in need. When it comes to strong emotions, only few know his true face.

As far as Drenzok knows, the only draconian, apart from him, who survived the fall of Iklestria is Kalderan. They have met each other in several circumstances, though they are not pleased with each other’s presence, and differences in the mindsets of their social classes are the main reason. The caste of barbarians were the remainder of a former social system of Iklestria in which there had been many separate tribes before a historical character had united them and created a kingdom under a feudal system. The barbarians to which Drenzok belonged were members of one of the tribes who had never accepted the new order. Kalderan was taught to despise them, and this prejudice survived even the doom of the kingdom, and the difficult personality of the black draconian has not helped at all. Drenzok is not different: he has tended to scoff at symbols and traditions of dragon knights, as he feels proud of the fact that he is “closer to dragons” due to his way of life and prowess at fighting. On the other hand, the barbarian is peculiarly connected with the dragon knight. Even if any of their people were still alive, Drenzok is convinced that it would be impossible to find them, and this is why he simply tries to live with what he has. Though it is difficult for him to accept the fact that Kalderan fraternises with humans, he tends to catch himself thinking about his fate, and does not want to abandon him. Whether he likes it or not, the red draconian is his compatriot.

Choć z opisu Kalderana dawało się wywnioskować co innego, nie jest on jedynym smokowcem, który przeżył zagładę królestwa. Poznajcie Drenzoka. Obaj panowie jak najbardziej się znają, a nawet mają ze sobą specyficzną relację. :)

Drenzok wybrał życie wojownika, która to profesja była w jego plemieniu bardzo powszechna. Różni się jednak od innych, ponieważ w większości walk wykorzystuje naturalną siłę, pazury i kły. Jeśli nie ma wyboru, używa także broni białej, lecz później ta rozsypuje się w ciągu dnia. Wynika to z klątwy, którą nałożono na barbarzyńcę w ramach kary za świętokradztwo. Co więcej, dzięki szamanowi jaszczuroludzi Drenzok potrafi pluć kwasem.

Smokowiec spędził życie na doskonaleniu sztuki przetrwania, czego się nauczył, przebywając wśród innych członków rodzimego, pochodzącego z bagien plemienia łowiecko-zbierackiego. Uczył się tego również wtedy, gdy próbował przeżyć na własną rękę po tym, jak sytuacja zmusiła go do opuszczenia Iklestrii, a także gdy zaprzyjaźniał się z paroma innymi plemionami, w tym z jaszczuroludźmi, którzy traktują go z nabożną czcią ze względu na religię. Dlatego wie, jak poradzić sobie w dziczy.

Barbarzyńca nie miał łatwego życia. Jako dziecko uratował ojca przed pewną śmiercią, ale musiał tego dokonać z użyciem świętej broni, którą przy tym niechcący uszkodził. Za to świętokradztwo Drenzoka nie ukarano śmiercią tylko dlatego, że działał w dobrej wierze. Jedynie nałożono na niego klątwę, ale to wystarczyło, by plemię uznało go za gorszego. Aby udowodnić swoją wartość, musiał starać się bardziej niż inni. Przeżycia te, w połączeniu z zagładą Iklestrii oraz jej konsekwencjami, sprawiły, że zgorzkniał i stał się cyniczny. Jeśli ktokolwiek zrobi coś, co Drenzok uzna za głupie, można mieć pewność, że barbarzyńca o tym powie i nie będzie go interesowało, czy obejdzie się z rozmówcą delikatnie, czy nie. Smokowiec działa głównie we własnym interesie, gdyż jego motywacja jest prosta: przeżyć. Z tego względu za najlepszą strategię uważa trzymanie się grup. Jednocześnie ma ogromne uprzedzenia względem ludzi i unika styczności z nimi, gdy tylko może.

Wielu osobom Drenzok może wydawać się chłodny, ale to wynika stąd, iż nie chce opuszczać gardy. Prawdą jest, że przyzwyczaił się do tłumienia uczuć, lecz zamiast je okazywać, woli skupić się na wspieraniu towarzyszy. Kiedy do danej osoby się przywiąże, nie zostawi jej w potrzebie. Jeśli chodzi o silne emocje, tylko niektórzy znają jego prawdziwe oblicze.

Według wiedzy Drenzoka jedynym smokowcem, który poza nim przeżył upadek Iklestrii, jest Kalderan. Obaj spotkali się w kilku okolicznościach, przy czym nie pałają do siebie sympatią, a główną przyczyną są różnice występujące w mentalności ich klas społecznych. Kasta barbarzyńców stanowiła pozostałość po byłym systemie społecznym Iklestrii. W ramach tego systemu istniało wiele oddzielnych plemion, zanim pewna postać historyczna zjednoczyła je i stworzyła królestwo, gdzie zapanował system feudalny. Drenzok wywodzi się z barbarzyńców należących do jednego z plemion, które nigdy nie zaakceptowały nowego porządku. Kalderanowi wpojono pogardę do nich, a jego uprzedzenia przetrwały nawet zagładę królestwa; trudna osobowość czarnego smokowca tylko je utrwalała. Drenzok nie jest wyjątkiem: często szydzi z symboli i tradycji smoczych rycerzy, gdyż czuje dumę z faktu, że jest „bliżej smoków” z powodu sposobu bycia i fizycznej sprawności w walce. Z drugiej strony, barbarzyńcę łączy ze smoczym rycerzem osobliwa więź. Nawet jeśli jacyś smokowcy jeszcze trzymają się przy życiu, Drenzok żyje w przeświadczeniu, że nie da się ich znaleźć. Dlatego próbuje po prostu przeżyć z tym, co ma. Choć trudno mu zaakceptować fakt, iż Kalderan brata się z ludźmi, nieraz łapie się na tym, że myśli o jego losie, i nie chce go opuszczać. Czy mu się to podoba, czy nie, czerwony smokowiec jest jego pobratymcem.
