I mean if you get technical enough its not a Lynx OR a Lion. ;3

its a hybrid of the two, and some TIGER.

i’m not sure where you got lynx from since it doesn’t really have any features a lynx has, but i googled it and it says “ Luxray is a quadrupedal Pokémon resembling a fully-grown lion.”. so lion it is i suppose lol.

It is a lion, in fact Shinx is based on Kimba the white lion. Comparing the designs.

I doubt Game Freak based their pokemon on another franchise. Cause of copyright laws. It's based on real life lion, or lynx cub and similar design elements are a coincidence.

"You make it sound like Kimba the white lion invented the lion species lol" No I don't. Kimba is a very popular character in Japan. Shinx's design was based on him without white fur. His creator is known as the God of Manga. The design choice is no coincidence.

Like I said I doubt that. If that was true it would have been common knowledge within the pokemon community, like a really cool trivia. Heck maybe a interview from Game Freak about the inspiration. But alas, its not. It's just a coincidence.
