I figured it's more polite to put all these into one submission, rather than submit them separately ^^;
This is Araluen aka 'Luen' my rose-breasted cockatoo/galah. He just turned three years old, so he's still a bit of a baby.
I stopped while making the bed to take these photos, otherwise I would have taken him out of the cage. As it is, I didn't need him pooping on the new sheets xD
His cage is looking a little bare... I really need to get him some more toys.
Figured some of my birdy friends here might like these pics.

Aaw, parrotlets are adorable! I can't tell you how often I've watched p'let videos on Youtube :} And budgies are SO SMART x_x Nobody gives them the credit they deserve. I love cobalts/mauves.
I'm so tempted to get a budgie to be honest, but Luen's really jealous... So I really shouldn't.

This isn't QUITE it... But I don't seem to have a proper photo of it uploaded.
Maybe I should go upstairs and sit their until he does it again haha.

Ah - 'nother macaw! I think thewonderhorse has a B&G macaw!
You didn't link to a pic xD But bearded dragons are cute :}

Yeah - the only pink bird most people seem to know of is the flamingo! But rosa bourkes, major mitchells/leadbeater cockatoos and rose-breasted cockatoos can be really amazing shades, and moluccan cockatoos are a lovely pale salmon... There's more than that of course, but those are just some others that come to mind.
It is - but it doesn't have to be for all birds! I THINK you can give food high in carotenoids such as cherries, tomatoes and beets to enhance the colour in some birds though.
Luen's actually a western variant galah though, the eastern variant is a much brighter raspberry colour.

*gasp* D:
I need. Show to me this video. I will have a heart attack of pure cute bliss. It will be wonderful.
HURGH!
I used to have a budgie and the only words he knew were "bird" and "birdie" but he would say them over and over. He would say them in a really low tone because he learned them from my dad (who had a low voice). He'd be all like 'tweet tweedle chirp chirp birdie bird biiiiird tweet twirdle!'
Now I have a Meyer's that says: Hi, Hey, Hello, Wha'cha doin', Pretty bird, Pretty boy etc...

Hmmn... well Luen's favourite word is 'chicken' and was the first word he learned. My brother and I kept calling him a pretty chicken, or a silly chicken, or a pink chicken... xD
Now he says chicken, muchi, muchicken, scritch?, huh?, Jaaaack, woot! and makes a sound like a toddler having a tantrum when he doesn't get his way. He seems to be practicing a new word with an 'oo' noise...
I'll go try and film him now xD

Well, for gripes about caring for 'toos in general, I actually have a journal here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1006866/
As for Luen - for the most part he's very sweet, if loud. He needs to be taken out of the cage for several hours a day. About an hour into that he becomes rather aggressive. While he's aggressive I avoid touching him, and if he lands on me I move him off. As prey animals they don't really respond to punishment, and it takes a lot of patience to just wait for him to stop biting and reward when he calms down. In the picture above, bottom left, you can see a bite mark on my hand that may scar. Once he calms down, he usually stays calm.
He's very intelligent, but is like a small child in that he has a lousy attention span. If you don't make learning fun for him, he won't bother. Like he has a hyperactivity disorder.
He's very playful. Actually, here's a video of him playing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFsThx8W_4s
At the time of the video, he was about seven months old.
Sorry, this got long fast. Anything in particular you were wondering about though? I love talking about the silly pink chicken :B

Moron!? Not at all :D
There was a Galah at a nearby parrot rescue here in Wisconsin, USA, and I so badly wanted to take him home. He would make baby noises whenever anyone would pet him, even though he was six years old. It was adorable, but I worried it could have also been a sign of distress or anxiety....since he was also a bit of a feather chewer.
He's since found a home, and I think about him now and then.

Huh - wouldn't be too unusual if the reason he was in the rescue was because the old owner had a baby and no longer had time for him, unfortunately :C
Shame to hear he was a feather chewer... they have so much emotion and they feel everything really strongly. I really hope his new home is making him a lot happier, though I'm a little sad that it wasn't with you. Maybe some day you can rescue another 'too!
They're wonderful birds to keep if you don't rip your hair out at the thought of all the work they are xD It's like.. a birdy genius with a mischievous sense of humour. Everything he does is for fun and it's a really upbeat and cheery personality to have around :}

Cockatiels are indeed parrots--and fantastic ones at that! :D I have two of them, and I love them to birdy bits. (Even though one is a whiteface mutation and may have been the victim of inbreeding...he's a bit 'slow' compared to his wild-form counterpart.)
Omg, Muchi...have you seen the cockatiel/galah hybrid? It's SO amazingly adorable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4Va82B64ow

Yes! The galatiel is adorableeee. Though I do sort of worry about genetic problems from breeding across species... There have been complications with macaw hybrids in the past.
That said, galahs breed/hybridise far too readily with other cockatoos. I've seen galah/cockatiel, galah/sulphur-crested, gala/corella (bare-eyed cockatoo)... I think someone told me they could even cross with gang-gangs but I've never read any evidence of that. One of the galah hybrids is called an 'apricot' galah, it's an amazing peachy colour but I always feel so bad for them. 'Toos stress about physical irregularities as it is without us intentionally breeding them to look different :c

Yeah, I hear you... from a curiosity and artist's/bird-watcher's excitable standpoint I like seeing genetics at work...the possibilities of variation. But that's just my selfish ape brain.
From a welfare standpoint I completely agree with you. While parrots interbreed occasionally in the wild, it's nothing nearly the same as breeders intentionally cultivating hybrids. I don't feel so bad about the galatiel, since it seems to be an isolated incident (for now,) but I did just see a corella/galah cross in a youtube vid this evening for sale at a pet store.
Ugh, now I'm sad again.

Oh I agree - the fact they CAN hybridise is amazing and fascinating! And some of the combinations are really beautiful, which is actually unfortunate. A local store here regularly buys galah/corella chicks from a breeder who specialises in that hybrid. To their credit, the one I met at the store had a wonderful temperament, but I hear they're unpredictable.
Don't be sad! Look how happy Luen is xD He makes EVERYTHING BETTER just be existing!

Heheheh xD
I went through a bird phase for a while.
I got to babysit this little lovebird named Ishi for a week, and I just fell in love.
He'd sit on my bowl and eat cheerios with me every morning, and bobbed up and down whenever I asked him something.
He was such a sweetie.
