It looks awesome!
My very favorite parts would be how you did the fur coloration on the jackal, the expressions on both characters, and (of course) the big huggable Totoro. ^_^
Thank you so much for taking on this commission. I'll be releasing the mini-story inspired by your pic very soon. :)

btw, I think you should be a regular illustrator for tempo for his code drop stories. your style definitely fits his stories and Erik's and Tess' personalities....Erik's especially. all of his CD stories i read, I imagined Erik and tess in this drawing style :3
just a thought xD
just a thought xD
hehe yea, really. I say this with the utmost honesty, I see Erik as a golden retriever version of me. I'm serious...after reading those stories of him, I see myself totally relating to Erik. his personality is eerily similar to mine...with the exception of me being a vegetarian. lol. but he seems to love more than lust, which is the one thing I like about him, and his relationship with his girlfriend. plus him dancin around like that in his boxers in Ch.5 was pretty cute. though if that was me, I'd yelp in surprise and fall on my tail xD
hehe same! I started at chapter 6 (cos he told me there was some footpaw action in it) then I went to 5 and then I went all the way back to 1 and went up to 3 (wierd order, I know. xD) and I just fell in love with the stories. I like how close they were in them...nothing but love as they looked into each other's eyes. wish I had that with someone...
From what all the noses tell me, the bright light sources (not talking about ambient light) are coming from right and left at the same time, and unless the noses and the Wii remote are made from an extremely brilliant material (because of the darkness of the rest of the piece), I don't this this is right. :)
Though still a beginner at drawing now, I personally love how lighting in drawings works, and I want my future art to be as accurate as possible on colors and lighting. The topic passionates me, and I really love artists who take the time to improve on the topic.
I suggest to have a look at this tutorial about color; I find it captivating, and maybe it will give you the desire to continue (or not) in "pseudo-photorealism". ^^

xD I guess, the thing about me is, when I was really young, I never planned on using paints or anything, I always just focused on how the characters looked and making sure that their anatomy was right.
I never planned on coloring, so when I do it now, it frustrates me, although I am finding ways to make it so I don't get so angry. xD I guess either slowly, I'll start to appreciate it/figure out how to do it, but until then, there's still so much I need to learn about anatomy, and my brain understands tutorials about that a lot more than it does about coloring -- I guess, in my head, they are two separate concepts, and one I like to think about, and the other is a chore. xD
I've tried tuts on coloring though, and never been able to understand them, so instead of forcing them onto myself, which would make me angry, I decided to just let information enter my head about it as I go -- I will keep the tutorial for reference though, maybe for a day when I am less stressed out. xD

X3 When I originally saw this, I had thought that it was rather sweet because of how the two were posed together. And then just recently...I found myself in a relationship w/a loving guy and when I saw this again, it reminded me how we had been cuddling last night on my folks sofa and in the back of the movie theater as well. ^//^ It just made me remember my wonderful night w/my Mate last night. Still as special either way in regards to the Commission; really wonderful mood created within the piece
XD Yeah, we had it here in Southern CA earlier this month, unfortunately I didn't go to it because I got tied up w/going to various Gatherings and hanging around w/some Furs in the afternoon...and doing last minute shopping in and around the Exhibit Hall since I was only down for the Day...There was so many people at it this year. And the concert happened in Los Angeles, CA
