After the last two pictures at some point Mr. Toad pulled Bruce off to the side to give him this little pep talk.

In my furry world, Bruce's dad died when he was very young (most likely when Bruce was in first grade).

My real life father had a stroke during the summer between Kindergarten and 1st grade. He didn't die, but he was paralyzed on his right side after that. So while he was still there, he wasn't really to me as a child. I always hate saying it this way, but I never really had a father figure growing up.

This is probably the reason I like drawing Bruce with "father figure" style male, it was something I lacked growing up, but obviously it was something I really desired (and really needed as a child).

Anyway, it took me some time, but I've turned out alright, and Bruce here is getting the guidance he needs, so everything is fine.

And to anyone who may need it, I'm proud of you. Be strong.
