Hrm, I actually don’t like what these Guardians are doing, if their whole deal is to let the Poseans live and create a society from scratch and learn about the world, they have to deal with consequences. I mean, fires can happen all the time, this fire could have been natural, surely they would need the skill to learn it? Either the Guardians believe the Poseans can’t truly take care of issues like this yet or they’re trying to hide something.

I imagine it's much more like a campground sort of learning. The kids get to interact and learn about nature, but when things get a little too tough the parents step in and help out. Letting them learn a bit more then having to do it blindly. It's why they can ask for food instead of having to hunt once in a while, but it'll be bland and nutritious. They can do everything they need to in order to learn, but the guardians step in when something serious occurs and helps keep them alive.
Interesting, Moi somehow wasn't affected and it doesn't seem like he was that far from where Lopa was stopped, plus his hearing is better than most so he'd have to hear something. Also with the whole ease of mind thing I get a feeling many Poseans originally had some bad experiences with fire like dying or such.
