Every now and then she would be "selected". The keeper had a special interest in her-- claimed he didn't want her to injure herself in the factory.
No one envied her--they offered their condolences when they could, when discipline wasn't a risk. There was one, however... His image was fuzzy. A feran, a canine... She sought shelter in him, despite the repercussions he faced; and he faced them nobly, by his own will, if it meant keeping her safe for a while longer.
Yet the keeper had gone too far. Her hero would not stand for more: he assaulted a handler when they tried to take her. He was restrained and shot-- but lived.
As usual, that night she was brought into the private chambers at the post. The keeper would try to encourage her, make her welcome--whether or not she played along she was forced to the ground and beaten.
And that was how her nights would begin. The beatings continued if she resisted, and sometimes if she didn't. If she was aggressive, she was forced to experiment with various drugs, til her mind was temporarily gone.
Her body ached and screamed, addicted and suffering. She learned to take solace in the euphoria, just to separate her mind from her body as her person was violated. But that night, there was no such chance.
She was struck, on the arms, her chest, and once in the eye. She bled. The keeper kept her pinned, as if enjoying watching her struggle. She didn't dare to scream, though whimpered as soon she gave in, eyes sealed in pain.
Her abuser finished. Something felt wrong: she was afraid to move, to see that hideous face. She was still chained up to the wall, yet soon heard the doors hiss open and shut behind her, as she was left there. After that night, she did not see the factory any more.
Finally something more in her character... Aryas is a slave at Orion Post, one of the largest slaving outposts. Few humans have taken to slavery as a means to survive, though their tendencies to settle instead of remain nomadic makes them far more likely candidates than ferans to establish posts like this.
When Aryas matured, she was "selected" by the leader and keeper of Orion. What that means is more than likely what you're thinking it means.
It wasn't until Liberation 6 assaulted Orion was the post abandoned and the slaves there freed. Aryas was found and gradually was nursed back to health, generally trying to stay out of the militia's way.
Spent like 4 hours on this one. Scenery was kinda rushed, though.

"Human Slavers, these scum attacks and plunders Feran worlds and colonies and their Government says it is not against the law of their Nations. How dare they, acting like it is against intergalactic Agreements. But this is the last straw, a war started, a War between the Humans and the ferans. We wanted to stay neutral. But this human scum daret to attack one of our Colonies near their borders.
They not just destroyed the buildings they started a heavy orbital bombardment and killed everyone of the 14.000 civillians. All reports say the same, No Survivors.
Now, the entire empire is calling for war and I decided that we will join the side of the Farans and fight the Humn Nation.
Right now nearly 1.000 Warship of the Alan Empire are jumping into Hyperspace and more than 1 million Soldiers of the Empire, are waiting for the chance to bring the Hell over this slave trading scum. We will enter Human space very soon and than, we will show them what awaits everyone who kills defenseless Citizens of my Empire."
