I like the idea of eating another version of yourself in general for the reasons you gave, and I love this picture in particular for the cutaway -- that mouse looks like he's having the time of his life. :) That's more or less what I would do in his situation, reach out and push the walls with both hands. :D
Oh my... how wicked awesome it is to eat yourself. My characters Link (linkthegamer) and Rex (vorerex) have eaten me several times and rex has eaten link quite a few as well. It's always fun to eat yourself in some form, it has the neat "Owwwww my head hurts... too complex to fully comprehend." side effect. Also if you have to have one power, reincarnation will all memories intact is a good one... well except maybe for dying horrible... might wish to forget that. Anyway, <generic comment on how good your art is here>.
