Before Todd and Yumi officially met, Todd was in Newfoundland doing some training, and had a chance to go off base for a bit. During that time, a festival was on the go in downtown St. John's, so Todd and some other mates decided to check it out and grab a drink. While they were walking through George Street, they saw some street performers and people dancing to the music and decided to check it out. That's when Todd noticed her; a colourful and tiny fennec fox dancing in the middle, twirling around in a pretty dress, looking to be having the time of her life. Unknowingly, this was Yumi's first time being allowed to go out on her own without her strict and overprotective family, so she was having the time of her life. Todd stopped and watched her for a bit, captivated by her beauty and grace. Unfortunately, his buddies were ready to hit up on of the local bars, so he had to leave. He was worried he wouldn't see that girl again, but luckily they officially met later on, just not in the way he thought <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
