PROTEST! I just want the world to know, that this comic is being posted under the protest of me - the author! And starring protagonist. Oh God.
But the Internet has spoken, and I am a champion of the people. I guess. But anyways, I should probably explain what you’re looking at here. Ahem.
Back in 2004, when Liz and I were dating, I drew this comic for her. And - imagine! I never dreamed that it would enter the public domain for all to see. But, admittedly, it’s so bad that it’s kind of hilarious, and I do so love spreading / inflicting joy upon others.
I will say, in my defense, she DID NOT break up with me upon seeing this! I can’t explain how that worked, because I know she did in fact see and read the whole thing. Yet no breakup. I guess my real-life karate skills were so attractive that they outweighed one cheesy, awkward comic on the date-o-meter. Thank goodness for my fists of fury.
A note from Liz: I really was that skinny back then, and possibly the inspiration for later on Lilith’s apparent lack of ribs. And to be fair, Dave’s portrayal of himself visually without shirt was not much of an exaggeration. At least that’s what I tell him.
