Soemthing I slapped together in five minutes to mimic my present situation with manga type styles.
even though I use manganess in my drawing style form time to time I'm going to begin to avoid for many, many reasons. If there ever was a way to get good at something quickly without the pain, it's manga.
I say this because I've noticed that, though I've been banned for two weeks on deviant art, I'm still able to veiw submissions and, coupled with my real life pain, I am extremely pissed off at the internet art world all because of manga.
You see, you could work hard as fuck to perfect a style, but when everything looks the same people will pay far out the as for the same facial expressions on the same pictures of the same whatever the fuck. Manga artists on DA (Not even good ones), make money far out the ass, even though drawing is more like buisness to them, no fun and no point in life, just profit. I'm pissed off especially that out of the other hundred thousand million pornographic artists on DA, I happen to be the one banned for two weeks. They didn't even ban my old shitty artwork, and That doubley pisses me off.
A new kid came to my school (and I'm glad I may jsut drop out and get me GED) and he basically stole my thunder int erms of drawing. This didn't help my mood at well because I actually sat down witht he fucker and watched him draw. Just like those who've come to be mocked becuase they have no talent, he outlined a poorly drawn picture of something from a manga scene that's been seen and spread way too much. People immidiatly see him as the better and grope his nads for compliments and shit.
I really hate manga at this point, He said he's been drawing for three years, but three years of copying others pics line for line doesn't make you good at drawing for yourself, soemthign that I've been doing for almost a year now. Guess this is why I haven't really drawn seriously in about a week, because chances are some manga-like chibi shit will be posted next and whatever I worked hard on will be overlooked and marked as "crap."

Christ, I know exactly what you mean, I came to north america because of the comics and stuff that they sold there, Marvel, DC and the others, Just as soon as I settled in, Manga, Anime and this other shit brainwashed every single person near me. All the comic book stores I go to are now filled with manga, All the hobby shops are filled with 'omglolbuild ur favorete anime charactur kit.' instead of the ones for the incredible hulk and spiderman, You have to get stuff like that on EBAY now to even enjoy it.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Plus, all the manga these days looks the fucking same. This is especially true for bishounen manga, which so many people read. The main reason I liked manga was because it used to be a nice little subculture. Now that it's making a mark in america, its becoming more mainstream, which angers me. it's not even unique anymore, compared to the godly works of Yoshiyuki Sadamoto or Katsuhiro Otomo. So what does this show? Even me, a veritable manga fan is pissed.
