Finally able to draw again and I’ve never been happier to make a new character! After a rough week of being afflicted with pink eye, I can now give into the brain rot that is Lego Monkie Kid. I’ve only recently watched it but I’ve fallen in love with the show, which is where this funky monkie comes in. This is Xuesong Dong (pronounced Shoo-Wey Song) and they are an albino long-tailed macaque. They’re non-binary, but don’t mind being referred to as he/him or rotating between he and they.
This is my first time drawing a monkey, let alone a plantigrade one, but I think they still turned out great. Xuesong lives in a mountainous range called The Silver Peaks after being freed from his 1,000 year punishment of being turned to ice and rendered immobile. Much like Sun Wukong, they’re an immensely powerful immortal and primarily keep to themselves.
They are unable to be out in sunlight without the use of a cloud due to their eyes having intense photophobia, a massive hindrance for them as they are also severely nearsighted (a byproduct of albinism).
He’s not really the nicest monkey you could come across, but at least he’s nowhere near as manipulative as another darker furred macaque.

Oooo! I love Sun Wukong! From the mythos, never seen the lego, but still. XD And this monkey gives off similar vibes. ^!^ Also love the scientific factors of albinism being included. ^!^ You really do your research. ^!^
Just 1 question: Their last name really pronounced "Dong?" XD

Thank you! And I’ve also always loved the legend of Sun Wukong and the cartoon is just as great ^_^
The research for them was also very fun, both for being an albino and Chinese culture. In which case, yes, their last name is Dong, though in Chinese the name actually means “to supervise”, plus an added bonus, their first name means “snow” and “pinetree” ^^
