Kola in Space - The Chitworts
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
Ok, I kept it secret in last Monday's submission, but actually I have made Kola's Chitwort story a saga, or story arc. This story is the 2nd instalment, and a direct continuation of the last story. I'm not going to tell you how many instalments there are, but you will know by the penultimate one. I'm proud of the big pun in this story, and not ashamed! Hehe. Also to get the reader up to speed, I have based the character Daniel Erinsborough on the great David Attenbourgh, and Brad Ewan on the late legend that is Steve Irwin. So if you can read their lines in their voice, it might help! Also a mention is given to a cultural phenomeon that is 'Test Card F' which was a Test Pattern used in the old days on UK television channels (it also inspired the test patterns featured in the second boss in the Sonic Mania Level 'Studiopolis'). Sorry, but I am a nostalgia nerd! I think there the only quirks in this story which you might gloss over if not explained hehe.
Blurb:
Kola and his friends are trapped on a planet full of Chitworts. If they don't want to end up as 1-year-old toddlers, they need to escape! Will the rescue party arrive in time, or will they be taking home a group of baby cubs back to Earth?

After arriving at the apothcary in Gawler on Planet Australia, Zee-Zee and Walla were surprised to find the shop had closed down, though Kola seemed more releived. Back in space, Kola encounters a hostile rocket, firing Nerf Lasers.
This was actually a game unbeknown to Zee-Zee and Walla, as the 'hostile' rocket was piloted by an old friend of Kola, Gussy. Gus tells the friends that his parents are missing. They were last located on Planet Old Zealand, where the friends head to find them.
However, all was not what it seemed as the planet is inhabited by a race of sentient plants known as 'The Chitworts' which feed on age. Gus was trapped in a cave, whereas Kola, Zee-Zee, Walla and Gem were trapped by a group of them out in the forest. Kola startlingly fed Gem to one of the chitworts, much to Zee-Zee and Walla's horror. Why?
