Gel grip mechanical pencils are for comfortable idle doodling; Erasable coloured leads, those are for pre-linework sketching; Sketching/shading/drafting pencils are for when I've gotten some feel for what I'm doing; Conte crayons are for when I'd like to make a mess of things; Gomme erasers are for when I have to undo a mess; Sketchbooks are for EVERYTHING; a miniscule pad of worthless yellowed paper and an bargainbin mechanical pencil with a nub for an eraser, that my friends is for when I actually want to DRAW something >.O
