A useful feature, Scraps - I've ages away from finishing anything, but this lets me show off what I've been working on. Occasionally I work up covers of bits of songs so that I can work out how they're constructed, and this is one of those.

Heavenly are one of my favourite bands at the moment, with a melodic style that still has a massive amount of energy behind it. This is just the chorus from "The Dark Memories", Amiga-ated. I was surprised by how easy it was to convert into my own style, with only a couple of little flourishes with the rhythm guitar being slightly difficult to work out.

This is the original chorus (the band's own sample player on their site doesn't have anywhere near the best bits of the album! They've got a sound that is truly everything that people hate about power metal, which makes it phenomenal as far as I'm concerned.

The question I have is... what's that repeating broken chord instrument that comes in occasionally during the chorus? They use it throughout the album, and I've been trying to reproduce its sound here without much success - I'm almost tempted to say that it's an Amstrad.
