Now here’s Angel, the wolf bodyguard:
Born in the suburbs of Brooklyn, Angel’s childhood was marked by his father’s actions. Being involved in the drug business, his father abused him, causing Angel to grew tired and run away from home, hoping to find a better family who treat him better. On his path, he meets Miguel, who also ran away from home due to poverty, who became best friends ever since. Eventually, Angel decided to return home after remembering his mother did the best to protect him from his father, and knowing the danger she’s without him, so, after convincing Miguel to return to his home as well, and promise to visit him when he can, they return back to their homes.
On his return, Angel found a surprise that’ll change his life forever, when he saw his father being taken away by the police. Unable to hide the truth, his mother told him about the crimes he committed and why he was sent to jail, thus, Angel was now raised by his mother and aunt, giving him a better future. But one night, when a group of bandits broke into his house, Angel fought them to kick them out, only to get a permanent scar in his left eye.
After recovering at the hospital, Angel’s cousins came to visit him and thank him for protecting him when the bandits came inside their house, inspired by their words, and aware that the suburbs he lives filled with a lot of crimes, Angel realize what’ll he be: a bodyguard.
With a baseball bat, which was a gift from his favorite baseball star when he used to visit his favorite stadium to watch the star perform homeruns, it became Angel’s personal weapon, protecting him from the danger and attack when it’s necessary. His nickname came from his aunt, after saving their kids, as he was their guardian angel, willing to sacrifice its own life for the sake of the others, as a result, he wants to be called by its nickname.
Despite his mother did justice in calling the police to arrest his father for many crimes he committed including physical abuse, he has mixed feelings: On one side, he feels some satisfaction that evil's paying its consequences, but on the other hand, he also feels sorry that his family got sliced by his father's actions. Every day he looks at the portraits of what his family used to be before the storm, he wishes so much he never had that experience.
But, to avoid the depression, Angel goes to pay a visit to his father on jail, despite both mother and father forbid him to, to let him know he still loves him despite of everything he has done to him, cause in the end, during the time he spent a jail, made him learn a lot of his wrong actions, and even if he has to live the sentence 30 years before getting freedom, he'll never miss a chance to see his son, even for just a short amount of time, teaching what he need to learn back then. As a result, to avoid being the image of his father, he always says no to drugs, smoke and alcohol, because those were the cause that made his father take the path of evil.
And whenever he wants to, he usually hangs around with some good friends like my boyfriend, Skyler, to talk about his experience of being a bodyguard, and other stuff he likes to do in his free time, like visiting the Liu stadium in Brooklyn, which lies a few squares from his residence. There its where he meets his favorite baseball player that gave an autograph to his baseball bat, despite that he retired, he still visits the stadium to see players of all ages enjoying a fine match.
In the end, even if Angel enjoys his job of being a bodyguard, he wishes not to live that life forever, because, the day his town can manage to take care of themselves from evil, he'll retire, and finding a better job that involves less risk to take, something his mother wanted the best for him.
While he rather fights the crime on his own, when his buddy Miguel offers help, he never refuses, becoming a dynamic duo, ready to fight for everyone’s justice.
