People call them a 'Flash of Light' when muttering to each other.
They speak of something they saw out the corner of their eye, like light bouncing off an object for just a moment.
Then it was gone. And along with it, something usually vanished.. Something of value, something treasured, something powerful, something shiny, or just something dangerous.
What was this thing, they all wondered? Certainly not a dog... That was impossible.
