Guys... I don't know what to start with...
This drawing went through a lot of changes and difficulties.
Let's start by the beginning, I wanted to draw a giraffe, because I found them very pretty and some what feminine, and also because I thought it would be much easier to draw than a zebra or an elephant. I thought this would be easy...
I was wrong. Turns out I didn't took the fact that giraffes have very unique anatomy compared to other animals like their neck and long limbs.
Secondly, my goal was to make a low angle drawing of a giraffe as to learn to draw angles and giraffes all at once. Again I didn't take for account that I didn't know how to draw a giraffe and I also never drew a low angle like the one I wanted to make. I spend pages of my sketch book to learn my mistake.
So I decided I would draw something else. An haircut.
I chose a very simple angle and less frustrating to draw. For this one I wanted to make her with an afro haircut which I believe would be beautiful. Again I realized I never drew an afro haircut before and had no idea how it works. I ended up making punk hairs, that looks fine on her.
Lastly, I didn't know If I wanted it colorized or not.
It's not that I don't like colors in a drawing, it's just that it is difficult for le to use colors because I am colorblind. I would say I'm lucky I didn't draw her green instead of brown.
But Surprisingly, I had fun in the coloring part. It felt like I was giving life to her and really made her look super pretty.
So despite the the effort and time it took, I am a little happy that there is some sweetness to the bitter taste this drawing gave to me. At least it doesn't look bad...
