I don’t usually include wide angle photos of the entire vehicle, but I just had to with this King Midget Model 2. In case you are wondering, the overall length is 102 inches. Powered by a 7.5 horsepower engine, that rocket hood ornament is wishful thinking.
According to Wikipedia, it appeared on the cover of Popular Science magazine in 1951 and was offered either fully assembled or in kit form. With a price of $500, it was a very basic car with no speedometer and no reverse gear. Later, the Model 2 was available with an optional two-speed automatic transmission that included reverse.
The owners of this car also had a Model 3 parked next to it.

They were an inexpensive way of getting around, as I remember a gentleman had a Modle 3 his had the 12 horsepower engine and said it would hold 50 mph getting 50 mpg.
Where I use to live there was King Midget Club, he had a couple of then he also had the pick-up modle that was a rare one.
Nice catch with this one.
