So yeah, after posting the original images I've been hounded by a few people for more updates. This, is actually getting really close to what I'm looking for. The ears are the next big challenge >.<

Thanks! Just a serrated kitchen knife and scissors. Though I cut some of the initial foam blocks with a band saw.

Is it the sort of foam that you can use a hot wire to cut?

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use a hot wire on most foam. Though, it's much harder to work with for small details, and there is always the fumes issue

It might be easier than a knife and scissors. I don't see why you couldn't bend the nichrome into different 'bits' for detail work.

As far as fumes go, that's what fans are for, right?

Kiro what kind tool did you use to carve it ?? I did an experiment head with electronic turkey knife and scissors and it's not nearly as smooth as you did *confuses blinx*

A serrated kitchen knife and scissors. Everytime you make a major cut it generally makes the surface crappy, so I will go back and smooth it out with the scissors.

it's just so hard to believe scissors can do such a detailed job! looks like you used some power tool to smooth it :) (like one of those sand machine for wood turning)

I'm actually wanting to do normal toony eyes this time. I've never done them before, and I'm kinda curious to try them ^^ It's a different look, but I think it can look really good.
