Continuing with the character profile series, here’s Milo the werewolf:
Born in the suburbs of Pennsylvania, Milo was the eldest of the four children the Anderson family had, his life was perfect, he had a good home, he was very popular at high school, a super football athlete, he had good grades, but the most important good things he loved the most, was his best friend Jackie and his girlfriend Nadia, who promised he’ll marry her after graduating and become a super star. He promised that whatever happens, he won’t commit a mistake that he’ll regret it later, something it won’t happen, and instead, have to pay the consequences for his actions I’m about to tell you right now.
You see, during a house party it was hosted Becky, one of the cheerleaders, to celebrate the victory of the football team thanks to Milo, he drank too much, he wanted to drive back home while drunk. Jackie, the only one who didn’t drink told Milo he’ll drive instead, but Milo insisted, and as a result, on their way home, Milo lost control and caused an accident.
While Milo was fine, his friend Jackie got severely injured. With nowhere to go, Milo tried to seek for help while sustaining his friend’s wounds, until a middle-aged man appeared and lend his help to the two. Without time to think and just as the rain begun, Milo decided to put his trust on him, and the man took them to his castle sitting on a mountain.
Upon arriving, the man reveals to be a scientist doctor, and tells him his friend’s going to be safe in his hands, and tells him to wait at the corridors. As Milo waits for his friend’s recovery, Milo hears some sounds of animals moaning and growling echoing around the corridors. As he follows the sounds, he finds cells filled with giant mutants and monsters. Soon he discovers the man’s a crazy scientist, and goes to get Jackie and get out of the castle, only to be captured by the scientist’s servants. After been strapped to a table, along with Jackie, the scientist puts an injection to both, causing the two to transform into big muscular werewolves.
The scientist reveals that the injection had a substance with blood of a lycanthrope, and stating this transformation’s permanent, meaning Milo and Jackie cannot become humans again unless he creates an antidote to reverse the effects. In addition to that, the doctor also stated that the transformation slows extremely down the aging, meaning the two will live two times longer than an average human’s longevity. And to Milo’s surprise, the transformation also causes his friend’s wounds to be automatically healed, returning back to good health. Despite such power, Milo wanted he and his friend return back to humans, so after fighting the doctor’s servants, he forces the doctor to create an antidote to cure them. But at the moment he creates one, Jackie goes berserk and kills the scientist, destroying the antidote in the process and his secret recipe goes to the grave with him, destroying the chance for Milo and Jackie return back their true forms.
Upset and enraged, Milo fights Jackie until Jackie falls out of the window, falling into a huge chasm.
At first, he thought he was dead, but after hearing a howling, Milo now knows Jackie still lives, but he might come back for revenge someday.
With nowhere to go, and unable to see his family, his friends, and mostly his love, Nadia, Milo had no choice but to pay the consequences and accept his new life as a tall muscular werewolf, as the castle it belongs to the scientist, it’s now his new home.
With the help of the wolf instincts, Milo took the job in removing many of the monsters they were locked in the cells, while ensuring none escape the castle, for the sake to avoid genocide outside, clearing part of the castle, while there is still more hidden underground.
With no one to share this experience of having a new home, one night, Milo took a walk in one of the abandoned factories, when he heard some’s crying for help. Heeding the cry, Milo finds Akiiki, an Egyptian jackal that came to visit the city, only to be kidnapped by a poacher who wanted to sell him. After rescuing him, Milo took him to the castle, becoming his new roommate and friend at the same time.
With wisdom and patience, Akiiki helps Milo do not be afraid of the civilization and find some more people of his kind to hang around with, while in return, Milo helps Akiiki learn more about his city and become stronger to defend himself against the enemies, including the poacher in case he came back.
Although it would not guarantee to get his old life back, Akiiki promised that Milo can return back to the civilization, as long as he trusts not only the wolf instincts, but also his heart, that never changes. Who knows? Maybe he’ll see his family again, even if some may be gone because of the years have pass. And while he may not have Nadia anymore, his heart’s still open for a new love in the future.
Being a muscular werewolf, Milo’s comfortable in his fur, although he wears some clothing when going outside, keeping his dignity. Thanks to the teaching of his family, Milo’s a kind wolf, and he won’t hurt anyone unless it’s necessary, as he ensure to control himself, so he won’t go berserk like his old friend Jackie.
Being a scholar, Milo has a big interest with the lecture, and because the castle has a library, gives him a lot of time to take and read a book, providing wisdom and knowledge to those they need it, including Tavi, a young tiolfey, who comes to his castle every evening to learn more about the modern civilization.
Whenever he goes on an adventure in the castle, sometimes, he prefers going by himself, or also bring along his roommate Akiiki in case he needs his magic to protect them.
In addition of Akiiki, he’s also best friends with other werewolves including Jon Talbain, as he learns more how to control his powers and how to survive.
And with that, there you have it, Milo the werewolf, so next time, when you find him sitting in the roof of your house, don’t be afraid, he may want to be your friend, otherwise, he’s just there to chill!
