Hey all,
I got a blind commission from trashpandalucas of Erotes and decided to also post his origin story alongside it.
As it stands, Erotes is unaware of his true origins, only knowing that his earliest memories consisted of Angels arriving to carry him away, eventually trapping him in Limbo.
Erotes eventually managed to escape and has been hiding out in the human realm, acting as a Lust demon, particularly for those who have fetishes.
Thus Erotes is on the run from Heaven and often finds himself fighting the denizens of Hell. As for why this is, it all started a long time ago.
Back when Fallen Angels were cast into Hell and transformed into Demonic Forms, a Great War occurred which led to the capture of many high-ranking Demons.
Among these was the Demon Lord of Lust, Asmodeus. It was said that no prison could be built to contain him, and thus a sacrifice was made.
The Cherubim, Gabriel, took on the form of an Ophanim, an Angelic form composed of many rotating rings. At the core of these golden rings, Asmodeus was placed, trapped within Gabriel as a living prison.
Thus Gabriel and Asmodeus were bound, as jailer and prisoner, but Asmodeus truly was a wily Demon.
He spoke of bodily pleasures to Gabriel, describing every act of carnal passion he could imagine, taunting and teasing the Angel that they could never know of such pleasures.
Asmodeus’s words seemed to have no effect on the stalwart Angel until one day, the Demon noticed something. As the wheels of the Angel twirled and twisted, he noticed a brief opening in the pattern.
It was barely visible and lasted hardly longer than a moment, but there it was. With nary a moment to think, Asmodeus lunged forward, using every ounce of his power to propel him out of the tiny gap.
His body was lacerated by the rings, but he still managed to break free. The force was so powerful that the very rings that once made up Gabriel were ripped asunder. Asmodeus flew as far away as he could get, retreating into the depths of Hell.
Meanwhile, all that remained of Gabriel was his fallen golden rings in a pool of Asmodeus’s blood that had been drawn upon his escape.
The blood then began to writhe around the rings of Gabriel. The rings began to shift as well, changing into manacles as the blood formed into arms and legs, a harness as a chest took shape, and two rings became a pair of golden eyes once his lids opened.
Erotes, born of blood and gold, Demon and Angel, had arisen as the Angels descended to claim him.
Attempts were made to pry the rings from Erotes, if only to free Gabriel, but all attempts proved to be futile. The rings themselves seemed to resist any attempt to remove them.
The Angels were at a loss, for neither they nor Erotes knew that Asmodeus’s words had touched Gabriel. Despite the Angel’s apparent indifference to the Demon’s talk of bodily pleasure, some part of them had been curious, within the deepest recesses of their being.
They had, in a moment of weakness created a small gap, just big enough for Asmodeus to pass through. As Asmodeus had fled, upon touching the holy body of Gabriel, a small part of Asmodeus was left behind.
The part of Asmodeus, the part of Lust itself, that was an act of sharing Love. That part entwined itself within Gabriel’s rings, giving Erotes life.
However, without this one positive aspect of himself, Asmodeus had become even more wicked, gaining a frightful savagery as he rallied Hell to wage war upon Heaven.
Heaven knew that they would be in danger of losing such a war without Gabriel at their side, especially without the Angel’s signature weapon, the Horn of Gabriel.
The Horn of Gabriel was a Holy Weapon that was prophesied to play a key role in Judgment Day, the day the fate of all mortals would be decided.
The idea that such a weapon was no longer at their disposal caused the Angels great worry. Needless to say, they were more than a little concerned when Erotes had broken out of Limbo, wielding The Horn of Gabriel while laughing triumphantly at his escape.
Now both Heaven and Hell are after Erotes as he hides upon the mortal realm, tempting anyone he meets into embracing their fetishes along the way. Still, while he’s neither fully an Angel nor a Demon, deep down Erotes seems to be searching for a place for him to call home and for people he can care for.

Well, that’s what I have so far regarding Erotes’ origins. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below. Hmm, I’m definitely thinking about changing the design of the Horn of Gabriel, but that will probably have to wait until later. 😅
