Still better than the last two choices she's made. That's right! The literal sex worker who's wisdom and tact are her most redeeming of qualities is better than an oversized simple-minded child-like monster and a failed insurrectionist who ultimately accepted the job just to spite everyone.
Madam Jade was never meant to be an actual cast member, just someone the male Brigadiers referenced in a one-off gag ("Getting a low number at Mistress Jade's House of Pain And Pleasure.") But she developed such a commanding personality right from the start that it just seems right for her to be an elder "voice of wisdom" to counterbalance people like Songween. She may be a prostitute, but she's also elegant, dignified, and intelligent. I enjoy writing for her.
